Taking A Break
Wow, it's hard to believe it's February already! I hope everyone is having a very safe and happy start to the year.
As I mentioned in my final post for 2017, there's no such thing as a holiday in the racing industry. January has already been filled with yearling sales, programming changes, record breaking race nominations, gossip, news, controversy and international award wins.

The excitement continues in February with the launch of the Festival of Racing in Victoria next week. Our attention then turns to Sydney for the Autumn Carnival and my favourite race, the Golden Slipper.
Even on a personal level, the first 4 weeks of 2018 have been anything but dull! I've watched my best friend get married, traveled around New Zealand and started a new job. And it's because of my new role that I have had to make the tough decision to put Racing Girl on the back burner for a few months.
I want to thank all my readers, friends, family and followers for your valued support in 2017. When I started this blog 12 months ago, I had no expectation that anyone would even read what I wrote. But I've been overwhelmed and humbled by everyone's support and encouragement. If I've taught you anything or entertained you in some way, then I've achieved what I set out to do.
Wishing you all a fabulous 2018, happy (responsible) punting, and I look forward to reconnecting with you all in the very near future!
Signing off for now,
